Dear zzDNS Member,

If has been brought to our attention that somebody is sending fraudulent notices such as "zzDNS Account Verification" emails to addresses harvested from whois records of zzDNS domain holders.

The email directs users to a URL that contains "zzDNS" (or in some cases a typo of "zzDNS") in the URL but that is not an zzDNS domain.

Example:

https://***zzdns_sslpowered_com/SSLSecurePage/AccountRenew

(the URL has been altered to prevent inadvertant clicking)

Please be advised these emails are NOT from zzDNS and you should not enter any information (especially credit card details or your zzDNS account login details) on the directed to websites.

ALL zzDNS account activity, including registrations, edits and renewals takes place on URLs under the URL:

https://members.zzDNS.com/

Accept no substitutes. Here are a few tips you can use to ensure you are not caught unawares by tactics such as these:

* [for Canadian members,] use a myprivacy.ca address in your whois records, which will filter out most of these attempts from ever reaching your inbox. (see http://www.myprivacy.ca)

* bookmark the members URL in your browser after ensure you are on the members.zzDNS.com website and use that to access your account for maintenance

Also remember that all credit card processing for zzDNS is handled by two parties, Internet Secure (http://www.internetsecure.com) and Paypal (http://www.paypal.com)

If you receive such an email, please forward it with complete headers to abuse@zzDNS.com and then promptly delete it.

Thank you from zzDNS.
