Good day.

I would like to clarify with you an issue relating to inspection certificate and the bill of lading.

The case is as follows:

A sight LC states under documents required that "The inspection certificate issued not prior to the B/L date by SGS inspection co.........". Presentation of documents included bill of lading, which shows issuance date as 25/08/07 and evidencing "On board notation dated 24/05/07". The inspection cert presented was evidencing issuance date as 25/05/2007. Kindly let us have your opinion on this whether the inspection cert can be considered as "Discrepant", because the B/L issuance date is 25/08/2007 which is after the inspection cert issuance date whereas the LC requirement was "not prior to B/L date".
